Command-thumb
04 Dec 2008
I’ve been hardcore designing so much lately I’ve been diagnosed with “command-thumb.” Yes, my doctor confirmed it. By that I mean, I said, “I believe I have ‘command-thumb’, I use my left thumb all day to hit the command button on my keyboard when using shortcuts for my design programs. You think that’s why I’m hurting?” He then confirmed with a “yes.” So command-thumb is real and I coined it, I think. It’s not the most glorious injury I can have or brag about in front of the ladies. Well, maybe in the design/geek world I’m officially awesome… but not.
So now I have to wear this funky (command) thumb stabilizer and pop some anti-inflammatory pills until it gets better. Being an advertising-designer in downtown SD ain’t for everyone, it’s a dangerous path, choose wisely.
P.S. You like that pasty I-stay-indoors color I’m sportin’? I’ve been working on it for a while. Someone needs lotion and some UV rays.
