When Joe (AKA Jay) asked me to do this shoot for him and Joyce, I jumped at the opportunity. It’s the least I can do for one of my buddies I’ve known since the 7th grade, plus he promised to teach me how to hold a golf club. He said teaching me to swing it would cost. He’s a great friend, right? For that, there’s a hidden surprise for those who can wait until the end (hint).

One of my last projects at AdEase was producing some spots for Healthy Works with Passage Productions, great team to work with if you have the chance. Here are some shots I took on location. One morning I showed up really early and found the perfect opportunity to put together some HDR shots.

The Mikey Show put on a show for 28 straight hours, with no commercials. All in the name of raising money, and awareness, for Rady Children’s Hospital’s Autism Discovery Institute (donations are still being accepted here). Of those 28 hours, I got to be there for about 20.

They opened up the top floor of their parking garage for all the M1s to enjoy the show together and even came out to perform some hilariously unforgettable bits. Later that night they had listeners sync up with them as they watched Dirty Dancing and Waterworld, I was fortunate enough to call in and get a spot in-studio with the cast as they commented. I was too busy enjoying the five hours of laughter I forgot to take some shots.

It was all good times for a great cause. Looking forward to 2011 when they get back from a well deserved time off.
